At 42 years old, I became disturbingly aware of how animals were abused in factory farms, how horribly confined they were being kept prior to slaughter, the fact that they are denied basic veterinarian care not to mention that they are even denied the basic freedoms of movement, sunlight or even parenting their offspring. That was it for me! I found it impossible to ignore what I discovered to be true. "If I don't consume animal products, I don't contribute to their suffering."
